September 20-22, 2024
On September 20-22, 2024, we are gathering at Echo Valley Camp in Leakey, TX for our second annual Fall Getaway with all of our 7th-12th graders as well as their friends and family. We will have tons of fun activities and team games along with times to hear from God’s Word and enjoy the Lord together!
Echo Valley faces the beautiful cliffside of Echo Bluff, where lush vegetation shades one of the most idyllic swimming holes in Texas. The camp is one of the most historic, established in 1954 when the Butt Family first bought the Wolfe Ranch to provide a place where young people who might not otherwise be able to afford it could have a first class camping experience. In 1967, Echo Valley hosted its first summer camp for Laity Lodge. Today, this historic campsite is shared between three programs—H. E. Butt Foundation Camp, Laity Lodge Youth Camp, and Outdoor School.

FAQs
-
Our goal at Austin Youth Camp is to help our youth love Jesus, be a part of a vibrant and active community, and extend the good news of Jesus Christ to others. Throughout the school year and summer, we get away for camps and activities, where, besides having tons of fun where everyone feels they belong, we spend time to focus on God’s word and encourage one another.
-
Anyone from 7th to 12th grade age is welcome to attend the camp! All campers must be willing and prepared to have an awesome weekend. We also have college students attending as camp counselors, as well as parents who help carry out the practical aspects of the camp.
-
The camp will be at the Echo Valley campsite at the H. E. Butt Foundation Camp, which is situated along the banks of the Frio River on the 1,900-acre H. E. Butt Foundation property deep in the Texas Hill Country, 13 miles north of Leakey on U.S. Highway 83. The camp is approximately 120 miles northwest of San Antonio and 60 miles west of Kerrville.

The camp runs from Friday, September 20 to Sunday, September 22. Check-in begins at 4 pm on Friday, and the camp concludes at noon on Sunday.

Campers will stay in cabins with bunk beds, typically grouped by gender and age. Each cabin will have college-age counselors with the students.
Cabins do not have A/C but some large fans will be provided to keep the cabins cool at night. Campers are also encouraged to bring personal fans.

Fortunately, we do not have the internet or cell phone reception in the Canyon, so cell phones will not work. As with all possessions that are brought to camp, there is always potential for accidents and theft. It is best to leave electronics at home.
