Summer Kickoff @ Carolina Creek

Our goal at Austin Youth Camp is to help our youth love Jesus, be a part of a vibrant and active community, and extend the good news of Jesus Christ to others. Throughout the school year and summer, we get away for camps and activities, where, besides having tons of fun where everyone feels they belong, we spend time to focus on God’s word and encourage one another.

Anyone from 7th to 12th grade age is welcome to attend the camp! 6th graders can also attend with a parent. All campers must be willing and prepared to have an awesome weekend. We also have college students attending as camp counselors, as well as parents who help carry out the practical aspects of the camp.

The camp will be at Carolina Creek Christian Camp, which is located in Huntsville, TX and is about 3 and a half hour drive from Austin. The Camp’s address is 84 Wimberly Ln, Huntsville, TX 77320

The camp runs from Thursday, May 28 to Sunday, May 31. Check-in begins at 4 pm on Thursday, and the camp concludes at noon on Sunday.

Campers should bring the following:

- Sturdy athletic shoes
- Shoes/sandles for the water (crocs or old tennis shoes will be fine. There are certain parts of the camp, such as the quarry, where there will be rocks)
- 2 swim suits (suitable for water sports and modesty - we recommend 1-piece suits w/ shorts for sisters and trunks for brothers)
- Beach towel
- Bath towel
- Toiletries
- Sleeping bag or fitted twin sheet and blanket
- Pillow
- Bug Spray
- Water bottle
- Flashlight
- Sunscreen
- Bible
- Pen

- One outfit that can get dirty and either be washed or thrown away

Each day at camp will include a mix of singing, fellowship, small group discussions, outdoor activities and games, and swimming.

There will also be plenty of open time for recreation. Carolina Creek campsite is equipped with a basketball court, a nine square set, a sand volleyball court, a turf soccer field, and a playing field

Campers will stay in one large cabin with bunk beds, the cabin has two distinct where campers will be grouped by gender. Each cabin will have college-age counselors and adults with the students.

Yes! All of the rooms and cabins will be air conditioned.

Yes, Carolina Creek has cell service throughout the camp.

Yes, for all water activities, we will have a team of certified lifeguards on patrol. We also have all campers wearing life jackets when in the river.
